อุตสาหกรรมอาหารและเครื่องดื่ม (F&B) กำลังเผชิญกับความท้าทายทางเศรษฐกิจรอบด้าน โดยเฉพาะต้นทุนพลังงานและวัตถุดิบที่เพิ่มสูงขึ้นอย่างต่อเนื่อง ควบคู่ไปกับการเปลี่ยนแปลงในความต้องการของผู้บริโภคที่เน้นการดูแลสุขภาพ สินค้าที่ออกแบบเฉพาะบุคคล และการเลือกซื้อผลิตภัณฑ์ที่ส่งเสริมความยั่งยืน ข้อมูลจากสำนักงานเศรษฐกิจอุตสาหกรรม (สศอ.) เผยดัชนีผลผลิตอุตสาหกรรม (MPI) ในเดือนมีนาคม 2567 หดตัว 5.13% เมื่อเทียบช่วงเดียวกันของปีก่อน โดยหดตัวต่อเนื่องเป็นเดือนที่ 18 ซึ่งมีหลายปัจจัยสำคัญที่ส่งผลกระทบ ได้แก่ การเปลี่ยนแปลงของสภาพภูมิอากาศ และต้นทุนการผลิตที่สูงขึ้น ทั้งค่าไฟฟ้า ราคาวัตถุดิบและราคาน้ำมัน โดยอุตสาหกรรมอาหารและเครื่องดื่มเป็นกลุ่มอุตสาหกรรมหลักที่ได้รับผลกระทบดังกล่าว
ปัจจุบันผู้ประกอบการมีการนำเทคโนโลยีดิจิทัลมาปรับใช้เพิ่มมากขึ้น เพื่อเพิ่มผลผลิตและลดต้นทุน ในปีงบประมาณ 2566 ผลิตภัณฑ์และโซลูชันจากซีเมนส์ช่วยให้ลูกค้าของบริษัทฯ หลีกเลี่ยงการปล่อยก๊าซ CO2 ได้ประมาณ 190 ล้านตัน สอดรับกับแนวทางการดำเนินธุรกิจที่ยึดหลักความยั่งยืนเพื่อรับมือกับการเปลี่ยนแปลงของสภาพภูมิอากาศ
